Et Abram se jeta^[1] sur sa face, et Dieu parla avec lui, en disant:

Quant à moi, voici, mon alliance est avec toi, et tu deviendras père d’une multitude de nations.

Et ton nom ne sera plus appelé Abram, mais ton nom sera Abraham, car je t’ai fait père d'une multitude de nations.

And I will makeH6509 thee exceedingH3966 H3966 fruitfulH6509, and I will makeH5414 nationsH1471 of thee, and kingsH4428 shall come outH3318 of thee.

Et je te ferai fructifier immensément, et je te ferai devenir des nations, et des rois sortiront de toi.

And I will establishH6965 my covenantH1285 between me and thee and thy seedH2233 after theeH310 in their generationsH1755 for an everlastingH5769 covenantH1285, to be a GodH430 unto thee, and to thy seedH2233 after theeH310.

Et j’établirai mon alliance entre moi et toi et ta postérité après toi, en leurs âges, comme alliance perpétuelle, afin que je devienne [ton] Dieu, à toi et à ta postérité après toi.

And I will giveH5414 unto thee, and to thy seedH2233 after theeH310, the landH776 wherein thou art a strangerH4033, all the landH776 of CanaanH3667, for an everlastingH5769 possessionH272; and I will be their GodH430. ^[4]

Et je te donnerai à toi et à postérité après toi la terre de ton séjour, toute la terre de Canaan, en propriété perpétuelle; et je deviendrai leur Dieu.

And GodH430 saidH559 unto AbrahamH85, Thou shalt keepH8104 my covenantH1285 therefore, thou, and thy seedH2233 after theeH310 in their generationsH1755.

Et Dieu dit à Abraham: Quant à toi, tu garderas mon alliance, toi et ta postérité après toi, en leurs âges.

This is my covenantH1285, which ye shall keepH8104, between me and you and thy seedH2233 after theeH310; Every man childH2145 among you shall be circumcisedH4135.

Ceci est mon alliance, que vous garderez, entre moi et vous et ta postérité après toi: Tout mâle parmi vous sera circoncis.

And ye shall circumciseH5243 the fleshH1320 of your foreskinH6190; and it shall be a tokenH226 of the covenantH1285 betwixt me and you.

Vous circoncirez votre chair, et cela deviendra un signe d’alliance entre moi et vous.

And he that is eightH8083 daysH3117 oldH1121 shall be circumcisedH4135 among you, every man childH2145 in your generationsH1755, he that is bornH3211 in the houseH1004, or boughtH4736 with moneyH3701 of any strangerH1121 H5236, which is not of thy seedH2233. ^[5]

Tout mâle de huit jours sera circoncis parmi vous dans vos âges, tant celui qui naît dans la maison que celui qui est acquis à prix d’argent de tout fils d'étranger, [et] qui n'est pas de ta postérité.

He that is bornH3211 in thy houseH1004, and he that is boughtH4736 with thy moneyH3701, must needsH4135 be circumcisedH4135: and my covenantH1285 shall be in your fleshH1320 for an everlastingH5769 covenantH1285.

On ne manquera pas de circoncire tant celui qui naît dans ta maison que celui qui est acquis de ton argent, et mon alliance sera dans votre chair comme alliance perpétuelle.

And the uncircumcisedH6189 man childH2145 whoseH834 fleshH1320 of his foreskinH6190 is not circumcisedH4135, that soulH5315 shall be cut offH3772 from his peopleH5971; he hath brokenH6565 my covenantH1285.

Et le mâle incirconcis, qui ne sera pas circoncis dans sa chair, cette âme-là sera retranchée de ses peuples: il a enfreint mon alliance.

And GodH430 saidH559 unto AbrahamH85, As for SaraiH8297 thy wifeH802, thou shalt not callH7121 her nameH8034 SaraiH8297, butH3588 SarahH8283 shall her nameH8034 be. ^[6]

Et Dieu dit à Abraham: Quant à Saraï, ta femme, tu n’appelleras plus son nom Saraï; mais Sara (princesse) [sera] son nom.

And I will blessH1288 her, and giveH5414 thee a sonH1121 also of her: yea, I will blessH1288 her, and she shall be a mother of nationsH1471; kingsH4428 of peopleH5971 shall be of her. ^[7]

Et je la bénirai, et même je te donnerai d’elle un fils. Je la bénirai, et elle deviendra des nations; des rois de peuples naîtront d'elle.

Then AbrahamH85 fellH5307 upon his faceH6440, and laughedH6711, and saidH559 in his heartH3820, Shall a child be bornH3205 unto him that is an hundredH3967 yearsH8141 oldH1121? and shall SarahH8283, that is ninetyH8673 yearsH8141 oldH1323, bearH3205?

Et Abraham se jeta^[2] sur sa face, et il rit, et il dit en son cœur: Naîtrait-il [un fils] à un homme âgé de cent ans? Et Sara, est-ce à l’âge de quatre-vingt-dix ans qu'elle enfanterait?

And AbrahamH85 saidH559 unto GodH430, O thatH3863 IshmaelH3458 might liveH2421 before theeH6440!

Et Abraham dit à Dieu: Si seulement Ismaël vivait devant ta face!

And GodH430 saidH559, SarahH8283 thy wifeH802 shall bearH3205 thee a sonH1121 indeedH61; and thou shalt callH7121 his nameH8034 IsaacH3327: and I will establishH6965 my covenantH1285 with him for an everlastingH5769 covenantH1285, and with his seedH2233 after himH310.

Et Dieu dit: Certainement Sara, ta femme, t’enfantera un fils, et tu appelleras son nom Isaac (rire); et j'établirai mon alliance avec lui, comme alliance perpétuelle pour sa postérité après lui.

And as for IshmaelH3458, I have heard theeH8085: Behold, I have blessedH1288 him, and will make him fruitfulH6509, and will multiplyH7235 him exceedinglyH3966 H3966; twelveH6240 H8147 princesH5387 shall he begetH3205, and I will make himH5414 a greatH1419 nationH1471.

Et quant à Ismaël, je t’ai écouté: Voici, je le bénirai, et je le ferai fructifier, et je le multiplierai immensément; il engendrera douze princes, et je ferai de lui une grande nation.

But my covenantH1285 will I establishH6965 with IsaacH3327, which SarahH8283 shall bearH3205 unto thee at this set timeH4150 in the nextH312 yearH8141.

Et j’établirai mon alliance avec Isaac, que Sara t'enfantera en cette saison, dans l'année suivante.

And he left offH3615 talkingH1696 with him, and GodH430 went upH5927 from AbrahamH85.

Et Dieu acheva de parler avec lui, et il remonta d’auprès d'Abraham.

Et Abraham prit Ismaël, son fils, et tous les hommes nés dans maison, et tous ceux qu’il avait acquis de son argent, tous les mâles parmi les gens de la maison d'Abraham, et il circoncit leur chair en ce jour même, comme Dieu le lui avait dit.

et Ismaël, son fils, était âgé de treize ans lorsqu’il fut circoncis dans sa chair.

In the selfsameH6106 dayH3117 was AbrahamH85 circumcisedH4135, and IshmaelH3458 his sonH1121.

En ce jour même Abraham fut circoncis, ainsi qu’Ismaël, son fils;

And all the menH582 of his houseH1004, bornH3211 in the houseH1004, and boughtH4736 with moneyH3701 of the strangerH1121 H5236, were circumcisedH4135 with him.

et tous les gens de sa maison, tant nés dans la maison qu’acquis à prix d'argent d'entre les étrangers, furent circoncis avec lui.
